Menopause. One of those words that both men and women can fear. Many women rejoice with the end of their childbearing years. However, menopause can also bring hormonal changes that cause a variety of unpleasant symptoms. These can include mood swings, hot flashes, and other uncomfortable changes. Many women choose to use hormone replacement therapy in order to ease the transition into menopause, but the long term effects of these therapies are not yet known. A more natural alternative is to take specific vitamins that have been shown to help ease the effects of menopause. If you are considering taking vitamins for menopause, here are a few that you will want to add into your daily regimen.

Of all of the vitamins out there, vitamin E is one of the most beneficial vitamins for menopause. In fact, vitamin E is a vitamin that is beneficial during almost any stage of life. For menopausal women it can help to lower levels of bad cholesterol. In addition, vitamin E has been shown to reduce the frequency and intensity of hot flashes. This vitamin is often a welcome relief for women who have been suffering from hot flashes. Vitamin E is actually made up of eight different antioxidants that all work together. The recommended daily dose of vitamin E for menopause is 600 to 800 IU. Many people who begin taking vitamin E supplements experience headaches or other symptoms initially but these tend to fade quickly.

In addition to vitamin E, the B complex vitamins are also essential ones for women who are going through menopause. Because there are several different B vitamins it is easiest to get the right mix from a high quality multivitamin. For women who find that they are experiencing mood swings or depression in menopause, a B vitamin can help to reduce the intensity and frequency of these feelings. B vitamins aid in the production of serotonin, which is the neurotransmitter in the brain that is responsible for mood and happiness. This is why many people who suffer from mood swings or mild depression benefit from taking B vitamins.

If you find that menopause makes it more difficult for you to deal with the stresses of everyday life, then vitamin C is definitely one that you need to add to your daily routine. Vitamin C is a vitamin that is very effective at helping people to manage stress. It is also well known for boosting the immune system. If you find that you seem to catch every cold that comes around or that you are always sick, then taking 1800 to 2000 milligrams of vitamin C per day can help your immune system to work more effectively.

When it comes to taking vitamins for menopause, there are many recommendations out there. There are even multivitamins that are specifically formulated for women who are going through menopause. However, if you are looking for just a few vitamins that will help alleviate some of your more difficult symptoms, then vitamins E, B, and C are three that you should definitely add into your daily routine.

Risks Associated With Bio Identical Hormones – Real or Perceived?

Menopause, which is the permanent end to fertility, and by extension menstruation in the life of a woman, is a natural part of the biological process of the female body. The physical and emotional symptoms of menopause can be rather disruptive and frustrating for women. Many women have always considered such negative experiences as unavoidable, but new research has shown that such symptoms are indeed preventable, and they occur as a result of hormonal imbalances within the body; as a result of menopause. Consequently, women all over the globe are actively seeking information about the beneficial treatments which may be available to them, such as bio-identical hormone therapy.

For the hundreds of thousands of women, who suffer through the indignities of the side-effects of menopause; the relief provided by bio-identical hormones is gladly welcomed. For most, nothing could be worse than the menopause-related symptoms they currently experience, and as a result, they assume that anything which alleviates these symptoms can’t be all that bad.

But is this assumption really correct? The phrase ‘bio identical hormone therapy’, is used to describe a form of hormonal therapy which contains estrogen and other hormones in combinations which are identical to the naturally occurring hormones produced in females, primarily by the ovaries. A major feature of bio identical hormones is the use of compounding; this occurs when a pharmacist uses a saliva test to concoct a unique blend of hormones based on an individual’s hormonal needs. Herein lies one of the most problematic issues as it regards bio-identical hormone treatment. Because each compounded batch of hormones is different, there is absolutely no way that each batch can be subjected to FDA approval, as they cannot all be tested to determine if the hormones included are at appropriate or even predictable levels. And if that wasn’t enough, the hormone readings of women experiencing menopause are extremely erratic and unpredictable, thus rendering the saliva-test useless.

Bio identical hormones have experienced a surge in popularity in the past few years, partially because they have been heavily endorsed by celebrities, and partially because of the discovery of new evidence, which divulges increased health risks linked to ‘standard hormone therapy’.

The risks associated with the use of bio-identical hormones are well documented. Studies have concluded that, although bio-identical hormones have proven to be effective in treating menopausal symptoms, it does pose a significant risk to women in terms of an increased vulnerability to heart disease, strokes and breast cancer. To be absolutely unbiased, bio identical hormone treatments do significantly lower the incidences of osteoporosis as well as colon cancer in many females. However, these benefits were statistically minute when compared to the overall risks of using the treatment in general.

Frighteningly, bio identical hormone treatment is currently being touted as a relatively safe alternative to standard hormone therapy. It might be safer, or it might not be; it is simply not known at this point. What is known, however, is that the risks associated with the use of bio-identical hormone therapy are real and very present.

Like numerous other symptoms of menopause, mood swings can be blamed on hormonal changes which take place within the body of a menopausal woman. Mood swings which occur as a result of menopausal reasons, are usually defined as “abrupt, irrational changes in behavior or in the general disposition of women, which are completely unjustified”.

During menopause the estrogen levels within the body are drastically reduced, resulting in severe hormonal imbalances which can cause several side effects such as: vaginal dryness, night sweats, loss of libido and of course, mood swings or even depression. The severity of such mood swings vary for each person. Although the intensity of the mood swings themselves may be unpredictable in each woman, there is evidence to suggest that some women may be prone to more severe mood swings than others.

Studies have indicated that women, who have suffered from extreme PMS symptoms in their earlier years, tend to experience severe mood swings. Also, women who have had a history of clinical depression, prior to their menopausal period, will be particularly vulnerable to recurrent episodes of clinical depression during menopause.

The onset of menopause in the life of a woman is quite natural and inevitable. Some women transition through this period in their life gracefully, while other women may have to deal with unpleasant side-effects; such as mood swings. However, whether the presence of mood swings during menopause is mild or severe, there is something that can be done about it. Just because you are going through menopause, there is absolutely no reason why you or your family should have to suffer through it; it is quite unthinkable that any woman should have to bear this burden in silence.

For menopausal mood swings, something that seems to have an impact is low-dose oral contraceptive (OC). OC’s are not prescribed for their effect on contraception, but rather for their estrogen content. These estrogen-rich pills help fluctuating hormones to remain stable, and by extension, episodes of moodiness should be significantly reduced. Incidentally, due to health complications, oral contraceptives are not to be taken by women-smokers, who are over the age of thirty-five.

For women desiring a more natural remedy, the popular St. John’s Wort, has proven to be rather effective in helping to stabilize estrogen levels. Simple lifestyle adjustments can also have a positive impact if implemented consistently. The establishing of priorities; the act of breaking tasks into smaller, more manageable portions; incorporating physical workouts, as well as getting involved in other enjoyable activities, are changes which have proven to be very effective.

For more severe cases of depression, antidepressant medications may be utilized for the correction of chemical imbalances within the body. The use of antidepressants has been extremely successful in controlling severe mood swings, and as an added benefit, it is also quite effective in eliminating episodes of hot flashes.

Many women accept mood swings as being just a part of a ‘life’, which they have no control over. Nothing could be further from the truth, as help is available in so many forms. The methods available can greatly assist women in enjoying their lives without worrying about sudden mood swings or dealing with depression.

As a woman reaches the menopausal phase of her life, the battle against weight gain begins. And this is an inevitable crisis in every woman’s life. The impending repulsion against the bulging belly is unavoidable. But there is more to it than vanity. There is also the impending health issue that comes with those unwanted pounds. Being overweight can lead to numerous diseases like diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, cancer and more.

The good news is that women can still do something about it. The secret is regular exercise, nutritious foods and a continuous intake of vitamins and minerals needed by your body.

Here are the vitamins that could help you minimize weight gain during your menopause.

Vitamin B6 – Vitamin B6 is a combination of pyridoxine, pyridoxamine and pyridoxal. It is essential for protein metabolism. As we know, a regulated metabolism can control weight gain. Further, Vitamin B6 regulates oxygen brought about by hemoglobin. Vitamin B6 also contributes to the growth and rejuvenation of cells. This means a strong immune system. Vitamin B6 also regulates blood sugar. It helps turn your carbo into glucose and sustain your body especially if you have low calorie count.

Foods that are rich in Vitamin B6 are cereal and oatmeal, potato, banana, Garbanzo beans, chicken breast, beef, trout, sunflower seeds, spinach, avocado, salmon, tuna, walnuts, soybeans and others.

Vitamin D is a great option to strengthen your bone mass. It is also a great alternative to build calcium. As a woman ages, bones are becoming brittle and Vitamin D can help in addressing osteoporosis. More so, it can also help to prevent colon, breast cancer and diabetes. A fair amount of vitamin D can regulate a body’s capability to gain insulin and studies show that Vitamin D minimizes diabetes2.

Foods that are rich in Vitamin D are liver oil, butter, margarine, sardines, tuna, cereal, egg, liver, cheese, milk and more.

Calcium – It is essential in building tight muscle, above all, it has proven to be very effective in weight control. Calcium enhances metabolism and suppresses the accumulation of body fat. Added to the benefits of weight loss, calcium also builds a strong bone mass.

Foods that are rich in calcium are sardines, salmon, fish, pasta, rice white bread, broccoli, okra, beans, peas, tofu, omelet and more

These are the vitamins that could greatly contribute in controlling weight gain. However, make sure that you also lead an active lifestyle, getting regular exercise. The combination of both can help to fight weight gain during menopause.

When it comes to alleviating the uncomfortable symptoms that are linked with

menopause, women resort to various ways to do this. Two popular methods are

Menozac and hormonal replacement therapy (HRT).

Menozac is a natural therapy that contains natural herbs and vitamins that

are known to provide menopausal relief. Because of its natural properties,

Menozac are known to have no side effects and health risks. On the other

hand, HRT is done through medications that cause the woman’s body to get rid

of the unwanted hormones and replace it with the ones that are needed but

are not produced anymore by the body during the menopausal period. This

type of therapy is considered to be the usual method in managing menopause

and several doctors and health specialists recommend this.

Recently, there have been a number of negative findings regarding HRT. One is

its association with the onset of cancer. Since HRT has synthetic and

modified progesterone treatments with the replacement of estrogen method,

menopausal women that have been associated with cancer before may experience

significant contradictions when using the HRT method. Moreover, it is also

linked with severe bleeding and other serious hormonal conditions.

There are many other harmful effects from taking this kind of therapy.

Using natural alternatives may be the best solution for treating menopausal

symptoms and here is where Menozac comes in. Menopause symptoms can

be treated naturally as there are no synthetic blends that are associated with it.

Any women suffering from menopause should consider taking natural alternatives

instead of synthetic medications, Menovac is a natural option.

It is possible however to manage the symptoms that are associated with

menopause to give yourself more comfort in your daily life.

One popular way to manage menopause is by using Menozac. What is Menozac?

Basically, it is a natural therapy that is directed towards pre-menopause

relief. Because of the unwanted and inconvenient symptoms that menopause

brings, women tend to look for various kinds of treatments to alleviate

them. Unfortunately, there are also adverse effects that come from these

medications. Menozac, on the other hand is ideal because of its natural

properties.

Menozac is a mixture of several natural herbs that are helpful when it comes

to managing menopause. Some herbs included are black cohosh, and damaina. It

also contains the essential Vitamin E that helps alleviate hot flashes that

play a great part in the influx of the hormones.

Other symptoms linked with menopause are vaginal dryness, palpitation,

urinary disorders, sleeping disorders such as insomnia and sweating during

nighttime, stress, irritability and depression. Menozac has all

the necessary elements or agents that can help a menopause sufferer to

manage menopause even with these uncomfortable symptoms.

If you are suffering from menopause, note that while taking any kind of

medication, it is still best to take it along with proper nutrition.

Additionally, this therapy may be natural and claims to have no side effects

but if you are still not sure if this is suitable for you, then a second

opinion from a doctor won’t hurt.
